Description Nankang SV55
The Nankang Winter Activa SV-55 is a winter passenger car tire specifically designed for SUVs, crossovers, and pickups that are mainly driven on paved roads. This model is produced by the Taiwanese manufacturer in 11 popular sizes, ranging from 225/70R16 to 275/40ZR20, making it suitable for most modern SUV and crossover models.
As a high-quality tire of the latest generation, this model features a tread with an asymmetric directional pattern. One of its key features is the different structure of the inner and outer sides of the tread. The outer side of the tread is equipped with separate blocks of massive size, which ensures stability and reliability when cornering. The inner side of the tread has a solid longitudinal rib, the rigid construction of which provides excellent directional stability.
Both shoulder areas of the tread have a large number of massive rectangular blocks. Due to their transverse arrangement relative to the direction of movement, the tire demonstrates excellent braking efficiency on various types of surfaces, especially on snow.
Another characteristic feature of this model is the highly efficient design of the drainage system. The drainage channels are of sufficient size to pass not only water but also significantly more massive masses of meltwater.
One of the undoubted advantages of the Nankang SV55 tire is the presence of numerous 3D lamellas. Thanks to these tread elements, it was possible to obtain an additional huge number of biting edges while maintaining a high degree of stiffness of the tread blocks, both in the longitudinal and transverse directions. As a result, the traction on snow and ice has significantly improved, and the handling characteristics on asphalt have increased.
Key features of the Nankang SV55 tire
- Asymmetric directional tread pattern design optimized for reliable and safe driving in any conditions;
- Efficient drainage system easily handles water, meltwater, and mud;
- Multiple 3D lamellas form an additional huge number of biting edges, increasing the stiffness of the tread blocks, which improves handling characteristics not only on snow and ice but also on dry asphalt.
