Updated tread pattern design
The Nankang SL6 tread consists of blocks of various shapes and a branched system of lamellas. The blocks of unusual shape in the central part of the tread provide excellent directional stability during straight-line movement. The elongated blocks in the lateral zone increase stability during maneuvers and provide reliable protection against punctures and damage. Four deep channels quickly remove water and snow from the tread, increasing self-cleaning and ensuring excellent stability and passability. The new lamella system increases stability on ice and reduces noise while driving. Even on a snowy surface, the tire demonstrates excellent stability and handling.
Updated rubber compound composition
To obtain the necessary characteristics at negative temperatures, new additives were used in the rubber compound. Silica helped to ensure excellent elasticity in winter conditions, which increased the restoring properties of the tread. This also had a positive effect on the tire's traction characteristics. Silicon increased the wear-resistant qualities of the rubber, ensuring a longer service life. The updated rubber compound contributed to a reduction in rolling resistance, which reduced fuel consumption and increased stability while driving.
