Description Michelin Starcross 5 soft
Michelin Starcross 5 soft tire is designed for motocross motorcycles. The key difference from other models in the lineup is the tread design, which provides maximum performance on soil surfaces with high moisture content. The tire construction uses solutions previously applied in models not only for motorcycles but also for agricultural and construction equipment.
Reducing unsprung masses
One of the characteristic features of the tire is its relatively low weight compared to the previous model and analogs from other brands. The tire was lightened by applying modern synthetic materials. A 2-layer polyethylene cord with increased winding density is used here. This makes the carcass both lightweight and strong. At the same time, it remains sufficiently elastic to provide a soft ride without compromising handling.
Horizontal blocks
The tread patterns for the rear and front tires have several important differences. One of them is the horizontal blocks of the tire for the rear wheel. These elements perform several functions. First and foremost, they prevent the tread from "clogging", which is effectively cleaned of soil particles thanks to the horizontal blocks. In addition, these tread elements further improve the tire's stability, especially when changing direction.
