The summer tire Michelin Primacy 3 S1 is a special version of the same model with the Run Flat system. The tire is distinguished by its ability to be used when mechanical damage occurs that leads to a loss of pressure inside. It is provided with a number of design features, which will be discussed below.
Reinforced sidewalls
One of the distinctive features of the tire is the reinforced sidewalls. The increased stiffness of these bearing elements allows the tire to maintain its original shape when the pressure inside is lost. A distinctive feature of the tread pattern is the smoothed edges of the forming elements. This improves several operational properties of the tire. Almost all of them are due to the improved stability of the size and configuration of the contact patch.
