Michelin Pilot Super Sport Acoustic

The Michelin Pilot Super Sport Acoustic summer tire is designed for passenger cars with extremely high dynamic properties. It is a special version of the same-name model, differing from it by a reduced level of noise and vibrations. In other operational properties, both tires are identical to each other.

Low noise and vibration level

The key feature of this model is a very low level of noise and vibrations for tires in this category. Most of it is absorbed by a special polyurethane foam applied to the inside of the tire. The material has a highly porous structure. The numerous voids in it effectively dampen noise and vibrations, preventing them from being transmitted to the car's interior through the suspension and body parts.

Two-component compound

The tread is made using two rubber mixes. On the outside, a compound is used, the composition of which is "borrowed" from the tires of racing cars participating in the "24 Hours of Le Mans". This mixture has increased elasticity and strength at the same time, which improves cross-country coupling properties when maneuvering and resistance to uneven wear, especially at high speeds.

The inside of the tread, which is more susceptible to longitudinal accelerations, is made from a rubber mixture containing special polymeric compounds. They give the tread the ability to tightly envelop even the smallest irregularities on the road surface and give it high thermal conductivity. As a result, the effectiveness of the tire on wet pavement increases and its heating decreases during prolonged high-speed driving.

Stability of coupling properties in any conditions

The tire is distinguished by exceptional stability of coupling properties even at extremely high speeds. This is largely due to the physicochemical properties of the Twaron material, from which the breaker located directly under the tread is made. The synthetic fibers woven into its cord prevent the tire from deforming at extremely high speeds. As a result, stability of traction and car handling is provided.
