The second model of the popular Michelin Pilot Sport series turned out to be just as high-quality and effective as the first model. It is not in vain that it is considered one of the best summer car tires. It is installed on the most expensive and exclusive car models in the original equipment. For a long time, it could be found in the basic configurations of the BMW Alpina Z8, Porsche GT2/GT3 models, as well as the stunning McLaren SLR. Pilot Sport PS2 combines world-class movement on dry asphalt, grip, and entry into turns. The Michelin Pilot Sport PS 2 tire is not recommended for use in winter, as it becomes stiff during this time of year and its characteristics deteriorate significantly.
The composition of the rubber compound in this tire consists of two parts. The first part includes silicon and black carbon, which is closer to the outer sidewall of the tire, and the second part is a high-silica component located inside. It is worth noting the stunning asymmetric design of the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tire with a large side block and central rib, which allows you to feel complete control over the tire. The rubber compound was specially prepared to achieve maximum results when driving on all types of road surfaces. The tire can withstand almost any speed load and at a speed of over 200 km/h will behave absolutely predictably.
The internal composition of the tire was designed specifically to withstand any loads. The tire is equipped with a double steel cord. In addition, the tire has three longitudinal grooves that can effectively drain water from under the contact patch. It will be very difficult to achieve aquaplaning on this tire. The qualities of this tire are preserved with it throughout the entire period of use. Even when it is completely worn out, its characteristics will surpass most new analogs from other manufacturers.
Features of the Michelin Pilot Sport PS 2 tire
It is worth noting Michelin's VCP technology, which changes the contact patch of the tire depending on the section of the road the car is driving on. When the road bend increases, the tire will adjust to this turn, increasing the contact patch for more stable driving.
The structure of the French tire's tread is based on Formula 1 technologies. This allows it to provide the best resistance to loads in any conditions.
The asymmetric pattern of this model made it possible to achieve the best control over the car on any road surface.
The model is installed on the most top-end models of car manufacturers such as BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Porsche, Ferrari, and Maserati.
