In development, for better grip, great attention was paid to both improving the composition of the rubber mixture and refining the tread pattern. As a result, a tire was obtained that provides excellent road-holding performance.
The most important role in development was played by the new FLEX-ICE rubber compound, which allows the tire to maintain elasticity at low temperatures and stiffness at high temperatures, providing excellent grip. In addition, the new compound has increased the tire's service life by 75% compared to its closest competitor.

The new innovative tread pattern also plays a significant role. With its V-shaped directional structure, it provides excellent traction on both icy and wet road surfaces due to its ability to evacuate water from the tire. Additionally, to provide even better traction, some of the lamellas have been replaced with micropores, which, together with 3D lamellas, increase handling and reduce the vehicle's stopping distance. Small protrusions between the tread blocks increase the transverse stiffness of the rubber. And when driving on loose snow, the tread pattern creates a caterpillar effect, thereby increasing the vehicle's passability.
Plus, the Michelin Latitude X-Ice Xi2 tire has high energy efficiency, which tells the end consumer about its economy.
