The summer model Michelin Latitude Tour HP from the renowned French manufacturer is designed for operation in the summer period on crossovers and SUVs. At the same time, the tire demonstrates all its advantages, and there are many of them, only in urban conditions. But this does not mean that off-road is an obstacle for it. The tire performs well on any type of road surface, providing reliable handling and confident overcoming of any obstacles.
Reduced wear rate
As we all know, tires on SUVs wear out much faster than on sedans. It's all about the weight of the car, as well as its power and, naturally, driving style, although this point does not always have an impact. In any case, the tires on crossovers are subject to more intense wear. In view of this, the developers have introduced several technologies, as well as changed the composition of the rubber mixture, which had a positive effect on the service life. As a result, Michelin Latitude Tour HP received an additional resource in the form of a 30% reduction in wear. And this is already an extra year of operation.
StabiliGrip
This is a system of lamellas that have a self-locking function. They come into action when performing maneuvers, at which time the tire becomes more rigid, allowing for the most accurate and sensitive handling, ensuring confident execution of any maneuvers. When driving in a straight line, this system works like a classic aquadrainage, i.e., it removes excess water from the contact area, thereby increasing the traction properties with the road surface.
Terrain-proof compound
When perfecting the Michelin Latitude Tour HP tire, the tire manufacturers also touched upon the compound, which received a new composition. In addition to the standard components, a special polymer was added to it, which is often used in the production of tires for trucks. In view of this, this model has improved properties to resist punctures, cuts, as well as abrasive wear. As a result, the tire has become even more reliable and durable.
Directional stability
This indicator is provided by three ribs that carry numerous lamellas on their surface. Such a structure contributes not only to confident stability when driving in a straight line but also increases the traction properties on various road surfaces, guaranteeing excellent self-cleaning.
It is important to note that the model optimally combines rigid and flexible elements of the tread, providing a comfortable ride and confident control over the behavior of the car.
Main features of the Michelin Latitude Tour HP tire
- increased service life due to a reduction in the percentage of wear;
- self-locking lamellas that make handling more sensitive;
- effective protection against aquaplaning, as well as a high level of self-cleaning of the tread;
- increased protection against various types of damage due to the use of a special polymer.
