The Michelin Latitude Tour HP Selfseal summer tire is installed on crossovers and SUVs. Although the model has the M+S marking, it is designed for use exclusively in warm weather. At the same time, its presence guarantees improved traction and handling on wet roads, which is one of the key advantages of this tire. Additionally, it is distinguished by increased reliability due to the use of SelfSeal technology, which is reflected in the name of the tire.
This model uses the SelfSeal tire puncture protection technology. The technical solution is implemented in the form of a sealed cavity about 3 mm high, located on the inside of the tire, which is filled with a special viscous material. Half of it consists of natural rubber. In the event of a puncture, the viscous liquid is pulled into the hole and vulcanized, restoring the tire's airtightness. With a puncture diameter of up to 6 mm, the process of eliminating it takes fractions of a second, preventing significant pressure loss inside the tire. The technology allows you to fully preserve all operational properties, including tread life, fuel efficiency, and handling.
Another feature of the model is the tread pattern with a flexible structure of block elements. The presence of slits in them, located in a special way, allows increasing the contact area with the road surface, further improving traction and handling.
