Description Michelin Exalto
Michelin Exalto – a "thoroughbred" track-oriented model, focused on high speeds, extreme loads, and uncompromising dynamics from the very beginning.
VCP
The main feature of the engineering solution lies in the implementation of the Variable Contact Patch technology. Unlike the static contact patch of regular tyres, the geometry of the contact area here adapts to the current maneuver. When the vehicle enters a sharp turn, the centrifugal force tries to "tear" the outer side of the wheel away from the asphalt. Here, the outer shoulder of the tread is intentionally made massive and rigid. When the body leans, this area "engages" in operation, increasing the contact area. This gives the driver two benefits:
- intuitive handling — the car follows the steering wheel without delays and trajectory corrections;
- even pressure distribution — the load is distributed not at a single point, but over an area, which prevents micro-skidding on turns.
ALM
High-speed tyres traditionally suffer from high abrasive wear. But in this model, the chemistry of polymer bonds has been revised. The used Advanced Longevity Mix compound contains a reinforced silicate filler with a modified macromolecular structure. This composition has made it possible to achieve a paradoxical effect: high heat resistance is combined with low wear rate. The results of bench tests show that the mileage of this model is 20% higher than that of its analogs. For the owner, this means not only a drive, but also real savings on replacing the set.
Water evacuation and directional stability
The drainage grooves are designed according to an asymmetric scheme, where the inner part is responsible for water evacuation, and the outer part — for dry grip. This guarantees a stable trajectory even during sharp maneuvers in rainy conditions.
Key features of Michelin Exalto:
- the model is designed for sports cars;
- dynamic contact geometry, increasing grip in turns due to the massive outer block;
- unique rubber compound with high thermal resistance, ensuring property retention under extreme loads;
- the claimed mileage exceeds that of direct competitors by 20% without losing grip properties;
- minimal reaction delay when turning the steering wheel due to the rigid sidewall construction and optimized carcass.
