Description Michelin Energy XM1
Like all other numerous representatives of this line, the summer tire for passenger cars Michelin Energy XM1 combines fuel efficiency and a very long service life. These two operational characteristics were among the most prioritized during its development. But since the French tire makers had accumulated considerable experience in this field, they had plenty of time to "improve" other indicators that until recently were considered the "weak points" of Michelin's energy-efficient tires.
Reliable predictable handling and soft ride
If the previous models from the Energy line did not differ in refined handling and comfortable ride, then this tire differs precisely in these not quite compatible properties. This was achieved thanks to the second-generation SEC technology. Its essence lies in the strengthening of certain areas of the frame, which made it possible to reduce its mobility in the transverse direction, while increasing the vertical mobility of the tire sidewalls.
Hybrid breaker construction
Another feature of this model is the "hybrid" breaker construction. It contains a steel cord wrapped in nylon. Such a "substrate" is, on the one hand, distinguished by excellent rigidity, and on the other - by a small weight. These features significantly improve handling, provide more transparent feedback, and also reduce rolling resistance, increase resistance to uneven wear, as well as punctures and cuts.
Main features of the Michelin Energy XM1 tire
- reliable and predictable handling in combination with softness on the go is achieved due to the "advanced" frame design, which is resistant to deformation in the horizontal direction with increased vertical mobility;
- a reinforced two-layer breaker made of steel and nylon cords provides transparent feedback and predictable handling, prevents the development of uneven wear, reduces fuel consumption.
