Description Michelin Energy Saver S1
The Michelin Energy Saver summer tire is designed for small and medium-sized passenger cars used primarily within city limits. The model is characterized by pronounced fuel-saving properties, achieved without compromising traction and handling.
Confident behavior in any situation
The tire features an asymmetric tread pattern divided into several functional zones. Its inner side has a design that provides reliable traction during straight-line driving and acceleration, as well as reduces rolling resistance. In turn, the outer side improves traction during maneuvering and braking.
Optimized rubber compound
The physical and chemical properties of the compound have been selected to provide, in addition to traction properties, maximum durability and low rolling resistance. More than half of the rubber compound consists of silica. This component, giving the tread elasticity, provides improved traction, especially on wet surfaces. Additionally, the composition includes functional polymers, which ensure the uniformity of the rubber compound and, as a result, stable characteristics.
Lightweight carcass
To a significant extent, the fuel-saving properties of the tire are ensured by its low weight. The mass was reduced by using lightweight synthetic materials in the carcass construction. Advanced cord winding technologies were used, which allowed significantly increasing the density of each layer, thereby increasing the strength and stiffness of the entire carcass. This also contributes to reducing rolling resistance.
Key features of Michelin Energy Saver S1
- Asymmetric tread pattern guarantees safety in the most complex situations;
- Wear-resistant and reliable traction rubber compound;
- Rigid and durable carcass made of synthetic materials improves traction and reduces rolling resistance.
