The Michelin Energy MXV8 summer tire was initially developed for the Pacific-Asian markets, but it proved to be so successful that the manufacturer decided to offer it to domestic car enthusiasts as well. One of the characteristic features of this model is the perfect balance between energy efficiency and excellent handling, especially on wet surfaces. The tire is offered in over a dozen sizes with a wheel mounting diameter from 15 to 18 inches, which indicates an exceptionally wide range of applications. Additionally, it's worth noting the fairly good speed indices for an energy-efficient tire - H, V, and W, which also testifies to the model's exceptional capabilities.

High resistance to dynamic deformations

One of the distinctive features of this tire is its exceptionally high profile stability in any conditions. To achieve this, the French tire manufacturers had to apply a two-layer tread, with the lower layer made of a more rigid rubber compound. At the same time, the surface layer has increased elasticity, which allows for more effective damping of impacts from road surface irregularities, resulting in a smoother ride.

Ballistic filler

When developing this tire, its designers paid a lot of attention to driving comfort. In addition to the two-layer tread, certain design solutions were applied to the tire's sidewalls. They received a special ballistic filler that effectively absorbs even very strong impacts.

Low noise level

The noise level of the Michelin Energy MXV8 is also one of the most important indicators of driving comfort, which led to a number of technical solutions. First of all, it's the S-shaped design of the tread pattern, with all elements arranged at a different pitch relative to each other. This feature made it possible to minimize the risk of resonance noise. The second component of the fight against noise was the tread blocks, or rather their number, which was increased by reducing their size. To compensate for the increase in rolling resistance caused by this design solution, the company's specialists arranged the edges of the numerous blocks at a significant angle to the wheel rotation axis. Another solution that affected the reduction of noise was the special V-shaped grooves located in the central part of the tread.

Low fuel consumption

As you know, most characteristics of modern tires are provided by the rubber compound. For this tire, a rubber compound with an increased silicon content was used. This silicon-containing component made it possible to significantly reduce rolling resistance, which, in combination with the optimized tread pattern, led to a significant improvement in fuel efficiency.

Excellent resistance to aquaplaning

Despite the fact that this model belongs to energy-efficient tires, it did not prevent it from demonstrating excellent resistance to aquaplaning. This was made possible by the block structure of the tread pattern, which allowed it to be saturated with numerous drainage channels to the maximum extent.
