Description Michelin Energy E-V
The Michelin Energy E-V summer tire is designed for passenger cars with electric and "hybrid" powertrains. It comes as original equipment on the Renault ZOE. It is characterized by exceptionally low rolling resistance, low noise and vibration levels, and high traction.
One of the key features of the tire is the carcass design. It has a low weight, which significantly reduces rolling resistance. It should be noted that the tire's ability to reduce the contact patch as speed increases also helps to preserve more battery charge. About 40 percent of the tread pattern area is allocated to the shoulder zones. Combined with their closed design, this allows reducing the level of noise and vibration while driving. Another feature is the self-locking lamellas. These grooves improve traction on wet surfaces, allowing for intense acceleration and deceleration.
Main features:
- exceptionally low rolling resistance due to the lightweight carcass and the tire's ability to change the contact patch size depending on the speed;
- increased shoulder zones and their closed design reduce noise and vibration;
- self-locking grooves improve traction properties on wet surfaces;
- the two-layer tread increases stability on dry surfaces and enhances it on wet surfaces.
