Michelin e.Primacy ST S1 – summer tire that can be installed on many models of passenger cars. The main feature of the model is its "green" production. This means that in the manufacturing process, advanced technologies were used that have a minimal impact on the environment. They also affected the design of the tire, improving a number of its characteristics.
The non-directional tread with a wide central zone, represented by three rib elements, is made of a special Energy Passive compound. Distinguished by its improved elasticity, the rubber composition reduces air resistance, ensuring fuel savings. To this should be added the technological solution MaxTouch, which allows increasing the contact area of the tire, as well as optimizing the distribution of pressure. This is reflected not only in the preservation of working properties, including on wet asphalt, but also in the reduction of overall wear.
Despite the small number of gripping edges, the manufacturer managed to increase the reliability of traction, including in rainy conditions. Much of this is due to the special system of U-shaped channels, which quickly remove moisture, maintaining the effectiveness of contact. Due to their shape, the channels remain effective even with significant tire wear. This factor significantly increases the level of safety, making the ride as comfortable as possible.
An important feature is the refined breaker layer, which, nevertheless, has not lost its strength characteristics. This was achieved through the use of advanced materials that are resistant to mechanical stress. In addition to strength, this has also affected the reduction of tire weight. The result is optimized rolling resistance - compared to analogues, the model shows a 27% lower indicator. To this should be added the use of the CoolRunning technology, which involves the use of sidewalls of a special structure. They, when deformed, do not absorb a large amount of energy, which also affected the improvement of rolling and reduction of fuel consumption.
