Description Michelin e.Primacy S1
Michelin e.Primacy S1 – a tire designed for urban use on a wide range of passenger cars (extensive size range variability). It combines high-speed directional stability with traction on light off-road, as well as provides fuel efficiency and acoustic comfort.
Simple geometry
Instead of simple square lugs, ribbed structures are used here. Each of them has grooves at different angles. The latter work like traction blades, creating a thrust vector. On a wet road, each additional edge breaks the water film faster, reducing the risk of aquaplaning. At the same time, the blocks are not connected by rigid ribs — this gives them the freedom of micro-movements necessary for smoothing out irregularities.
The ribbed architecture provides two more advantages. The first is that the rolling resistance is reduced by 8-10% compared to chaotic arrangement. The blocks are less deformed, which means that fuel is saved. The second is that directional stability is improved — the tire does not "skid". In addition, the longitudinal orientation slows down abrasive wear.
Reinforced compound
The rubber mixture is a thermally stabilized compound with increased resistance to breaks and thermal aging. Loads often cause microcracks at the base of the grooves, especially in hot weather. Therefore, special elastomers were introduced into the recipe, which suppress the growth of cracks under the influence of increased temperature and intense effects.
Main features of Michelin e.Primacy S1:
- possibility of fitting to numerous models, regardless of the manufacturer;
- universal tread pattern provides reliable traction, both on dry asphalt and in wet road conditions;
- increased contact patch due to optimized longitudinal profile provides comfortable and precise handling at high speeds, evenly distributes pressure and prevents premature "spotted" wear;
- wear-resistant compound is resistant to abrasive wear, resists breaks and the formation of small cracks from thermal aging.
