The symmetrical tread pattern is dotted with narrow slits. They form a multitude of sharp edges that help the tire maintain traction on wet and snowy roads. At the same time, the vertical walls of the lamellae, having a "three-dimensional" profile, not only fix the slits in the open position but also limit the mobility of the blocks. This model is one of the few in the line of tires of the French brand, where solutions "borrowed" from truck tires are applied. We are talking about the EverTread rubber compound, which includes a whole complex of components that increase resistance to abrasive wear, punctures, and cuts, even on gravel roads. In addition, this compound is distinguished by good heat conductivity, which reduces rolling resistance during prolonged high-speed driving. The ultimate result of such designs is a significant reduction in fuel consumption and an increase in tire mileage.
Increased level of acoustic comfort
Despite the presence of a large number of tread elements, the tire is distinguished by a low level of noise and vibrations even on "rough" asphalt. This is due to a whole series of technical solutions. One of them is the use of a 2-layer compound, the outer side of which, due to increased elasticity, dampens the impact of small irregularities on the road surface. In addition, the tread elements themselves are arranged at a certain pitch, and their shape further reduces the risk of resonance noise and vibrations.
