Description Michelin Alpin
The Michelin Alpin winter passenger non-studded tire was specifically designed for the specific climatic conditions of European winters, which are characterized by unstable snow cover, large temperature fluctuations during the day, and high humidity levels. Such conditions require tires with universal characteristics. The tire is produced in several dozen sizes from 15 to 17 inches, which allows them to be used not only on small and medium-sized passenger cars but also on crossovers.
When developing the V-shaped design of the symmetrical directional tread pattern of the tire, French tire engineers used a range of advanced technical developments available to this tire giant from France. In particular, they managed to ensure a constant contact area of the Michelin Alpin tire, which has a minimum number of inactive zones. This made it possible to significantly improve the tire's grip on icy surfaces.
The tire's tread pattern contains an increased number of blocks compared to conventional winter tires, with a multitude of sharp edges that provide excellent traction and grip when driving on snowy roads.
As part of the company's innovative Stabiligrip technology, the entire surface of the tire's tread is literally covered with special three-dimensional lamellae, which provide the tire with confident and reliable behavior when driving on slippery roads. To improve handling when driving in various modes, these lamellae are arranged at different angles.
Main features of the Michelin Alpin tire
- Excellent grip in any road conditions is provided by the perfectly designed V-shaped design of the symmetrical tread pattern;
- Rubber compound with a high content of silicone-containing components, which ensures excellent elasticity of the tire at negative temperatures;
- Increased number of tread blocks provides excellent grip when driving on snowy roads;
- A large number of three-dimensional lamellae arranged at different angles allows for confident movement on icy roads.
