The Michelin Agilis 81 Snow-Ice is a studded, winter model for light trucks and vans, as well as various commercial vehicles. A two-layer tread and optimal stud height guarantee excellent traction, driving safety, and, most importantly, a minimal braking distance on both snowy and icy roads. Eight rows of studs reduce the braking distance on icy surfaces and keep the vehicle stable when cornering. Longitudinal deep zigzag channels significantly improve stability when driving on rutted ice. Bidirectional self-locking lamellas and lamellas with variable geometry, as part of the Michelin Stabiligrip technology, improve stability and stability. The increased length of the lamellas by 16% in the tire allows for the application of additional gripping edges, increasing the efficiency of movement on snow, which improves traction characteristics by 25%.
Thanks to the Michelin Durable Contact Patch technology, the tire has a 27% larger square-shaped contact patch, which has improved handling and traction on various road surfaces.
The Michelin Agilis 81 Snow-Ice tire has eight protective inserts located on the sidewall, which perfectly protect the tire from various external damages. Together with the two-layer carcass, these protective inserts reduce the likelihood of punctures and damage throughout the entire service life. The latest materials were used in the production of the tire, and the entire process was carefully controlled, so it's no surprise that the tire has such excellent quality and meets world standards.
Main features of Michelin Agilis 81 Snow-Ice
- the tire is based on silicon, providing long-term preservation of all operational characteristics, improving traction, reducing rolling resistance, and, consequently, fuel consumption;
- a unique tread pattern was simulated using computer technology, which made it possible to achieve optimal properties on various road surfaces and significantly reduce the noise level;
- self-locking Z-shaped lamellas of increased depth improve the tire's traction properties;
- three deep wide grooves quickly remove snow, water, and slush from the tire's contact area, preventing aquaplaning;
- a special reinforced cord increases the tire's resource;
- an reinforced shoulder area and sidewalls prevent tire deformation and increase resistance to various mechanical damages;
- increased by 2mm studding (studs are fixed with two strong layers) provides a long service life and reduces stud loss.
