DescriptionDescription Metzeler ME888 Marathon Ultra
The Metzeler ME888 Marathon Ultra motorcycle tire model is an updated version of the Metzeler ME888 Marathon, which has long been one of the leaders in the touring tire segment (Custom Touring). The new model has retained all the main operational characteristics of its predecessor, while becoming even more durable, reliable and safe.
Tread
The tread pattern of both the front and rear tires features a significant number of diagonal channels, which significantly improve traction, especially on wet roads. At the same time, this structure has also positively affected traction, making it more effective on any road surface.
Extended Service Life
The production of the motorcycle tire also used an innovative compound that significantly increased its service life, minimizing abrasive wear. In addition, it is necessary to note the complete preservation of operational properties throughout the entire service period.
Speed Modes
The ME888 Marathon Ultra also stands out for its wide range of supported speeds. At the same time, the tire gives confidence in handling at any speed, making vehicle operation more convenient.

This is already the third tire of this company that I'm installing on my BMW k1200LT motorcycle (and why don't they add motorcycles to the review form), the first one lasted for 27 thousand kilometers, the second one for 21 thousand (it was chewed up, as it later turned out, I bent the disk, apparently because of this, since after driving and the next balloon was normally discharged, but due to the price, I installed a balloon from another company), the one I just installed, I haven't driven much yet, but in terms of quality, it's similar to the previous Metzeler tires.
Among the advantages, I can note that it has a stable grip on both wet and dry asphalt, it handles high speeds well, and it behaves acceptably on dirt roads.
Among the disadvantages - it's a bit stiff, when driving on partially paved roads, potholes are still felt, on ice it behaves so-so, at around zero temperatures, the grip is not the same as on hot asphalt, but you can drive confidently, also, it's worth noting that if you miss the replacement and drive until the tire is completely bald, it becomes slippery, especially when braking.
I installed a tire from another company, softer, it passes through potholes clearly, everything is also good, but it wore out quickly, so I returned to Metzeler, with it, you can forget about tire replacements for a while, and the driving characteristics are sufficiently confident.

Doesn't let me choose the motorcycle brand, I have a Honda VTX1800C.
This spring, the tires wore down to the cord and at first, I was disappointed that they had reached the end so quickly. But after checking the order date, I realized I had overreacted.
I've driven 3 full seasons, from spring to late fall (i.e., the entire temperature range), on roads of varying degrees of damage and texture, on a heavy cruiser, often loaded or with a passenger. The mileage is around 20,000. The tires performed admirably, brought me home from the sea and a blinking cord was discovered)

When installing the tire on the rim, it seemed very stiff and dense. There were difficulties with landing on the rim. But while driving, it feels very comfortable. The grip is excellent.
