Description Metzeler MCE Karoo
The Metzeler MCE Karoo motorcycle tire is a great example of creating universal rubber, suitable not only for off-road driving but also for roads with solid pavement. The complexity of the task can be judged by the class of motorcycles for which this model is intended. It was initially developed for enduro class motorcycles. The range of available sizes is represented by one size for the front axle and five for the rear. In all cases, the profile height is a solid 70 or 80%.
The German tire manufacturer, when creating this universal tire, decided not to deviate from the classic canons and equipped the tread with an aggressive off-road pattern with numerous blocks of massive sizes. At the same time, the tread blocks are located with long edges perpendicular to the direction of movement, which made it possible to provide impressive acceleration and braking efficiency on unstable sandy and earthy types of coverage. Additionally, powerful rectangular blocks are also located on the sidewalls of the tire, which provides excellent grip and stability when cornering. These same blocks serve as excellent protection for the sidewalls of the Metzeler MCE Karoo tire, protecting them from punctures and cuts.
The efficiency when driving on the highway is provided by the high resistance of the tire to deformation caused by lateral forces. This was achieved thanks to the multi-layer construction of the carcass, which is characterized by high rigidity and low weight.
Key Features of Metzeler MCE Karoo
- The aggressive tread pattern design was developed specifically to provide the most efficient acceleration and braking on sandy and earthy types of coverage;
- A large number of rectangular blocks of massive sizes provide excellent grip and stability in any conditions;
- Tread blocks on the sidewalls of the tire allow you to maintain control over the motorcycle when cornering;
- Excellent strength and very even distribution of external weight allow you to move safely even on highways, as well as install this tire on various enduro class models;
- The multi-layer construction of the carcass provided the tire with a low weight, excellent resistance to punctures and cuts, as well as excellent profile stability in any conditions;
- A special composition of the rubber mixture gave the tread excellent wear resistance when driving even on hard surfaces.
