The Maxxis PRO-R1 Victra summer tire was developed based on the popular iPro and MAZ4S models, highly valued among North American owners of sports sedans and coupes. They are the primary target audience for this new product from the well-known Asian manufacturer.
Excellent traction and low noise level
In developing the Maxxis PRO-R1 Victra, the company's specialists sought to balance handling and comfort. This was achieved with the help of advanced computer modeling technologies. One of the results of their use was a tread pattern with an original symmetrical design, containing 5 longitudinal ribs. Each of them is distinguished by massive dimensions and a rigid structure, which gives the tire excellent directional stability in combination with fast and extremely accurate responses to the driver's actions. In combination with a very significant contact patch area, this noticeably simplifies the process of controlling the vehicle at any speed.
Another feature of the tread design of this tire is that all its numerous elements are arranged with a varying pitch relative to each other. This minimizes the likelihood of resonance noise and vibrations, which significantly increases the level of acoustic comfort.
Closed design of the shoulder areas of the Maxxis PRO-R1 Victra
In turn, the shoulder areas of the tread are distinguished by a closed design and very high resistance to dynamic deformation. When cornering, these features manifest themselves in excellent stability and clear feedback on the steering wheel.
Excellent resistance to aquaplaning
Between the five longitudinal tread ribs, very wide drainage grooves are located. Their total volume is more than enough for the tread to extremely effectively handle the removal of almost any amount of water from the contact patch. In addition to the drainage grooves, resistance to aquaplaning is largely ensured by numerous lamellas. These miniature elements direct water into one of the nearby grooves, thereby drying the contact patch, and, in addition, provide it with a multitude of additional edges for traction.
Updated compound composition
Specifically for this tire, the compound composition has been significantly updated. The main innovation was the appearance in it of silicon-containing components and new-generation polymers. This made it possible to significantly improve almost all the main characteristics of the tire, first of all, fuel efficiency, traction on a wet road, as well as tear resistance.
Rigid carcass
Another notable innovation of the Maxxis PRO-R1 Victra is the carcass design. It uses exclusively synthetic materials, thanks to which the tire has an extremely low weight. Lightness is surprisingly combined with the ability to maintain its original shape when exposed to even significant acceleration forces. This is ensured by the use of modern cord winding technologies. It is characterized by very high density and the absence of any seams or joints.
