The design of the symmetrical directional tread pattern has an aggressive appearance, reminiscent of the letter "V". In the central part of the tread, there are many individual blocks, the whimsical shape of which forms a virtually solid central rib, dotted with a large number of transverse channels of curved shape. This solution made it possible to maximally increase the contact area of the Maxxis MA-SW tire, which significantly improved the efficiency of traction and braking on various surfaces.
In addition, the large number of transverse channels significantly increased the efficiency of removing not only snow slush from the contact area but also water due to their curved shape, which increases the speed of water circulation in the contact area. Very wide shoulder areas, divided by transverse channels into separate massive blocks, made it possible to improve traction when cornering, and the multitude of sharp edges significantly increased the tire's passability in deep snow. For confident movement on icy roads, the entire tread of the tire is dotted with a multitude of transverse wavy lamellas, the sharp edges of which effectively pierce the water film forming on the surface of the ice, providing excellent traction even with a very slippery surface.
