The Maxxis MA-SLW Presa Spike winter tire, in its non-studded version, is an excellent option for light commercial vehicles primarily used on urban roads. It boasts improved ride smoothness and acoustic comfort, along with consistent traction properties on wet and snowy surfaces.
The tire's tread is designed in a "Scandinavian" style with a arrow-shaped solid longitudinal rib in the center. This feature provides directional stability at high speeds, reducing fuel consumption and wear. The "branches" extending from the longitudinal rib, in the form of paired blocks, allow for intense acceleration and braking on snow. The cross-shaped grooves in the shoulder areas further enhance this ability, retaining snow mass in the tread. It is worth noting the presence of numerous triangular grooves on the sidewalls, which improve traction properties on uncleared road sections.
Key Features:
- The "Scandinavian" design of the tread pattern provides high performance on any winter surfaces;
- The optimized tread profile expands the contact patch, giving it a nearly square shape, which improves handling on dry surfaces and prevents rapid tread wear;
- The breaker reinforced with an additional steel cord increases the tire's resistance to mechanical damage, increasing its mileage in heavy operating conditions.
