The Maxxis MA-718 summer tire, produced by the renowned and respected Taiwanese manufacturer, is designed for small and medium-sized passenger vehicles.
The design of the symmetrical tread pattern features all the distinctive characteristics of modern economical tires. The tread pattern consists of two wide central ribs and two shoulder zones, separated by three water drainage grooves. The two wide ribs in the central part of the tread provide the maximum contact patch area, significantly improving the tire's traction on dry surfaces. The surface of the central ribs is covered with curved transverse grooves and self-locking lamellas. The curved shape of the transverse grooves is designed to increase the efficiency of water evacuation from the contact patch, while the self-locking lamellas increase the stiffness of the central ribs, significantly improving acceleration and braking efficiency.
Thanks to the presence of three wide longitudinal grooves, it is possible to prevent the occurrence of aquaplaning when driving even on very wet roads, due to the rapid and efficient removal of water from the Maxxis MA-718 tire's contact patch, which ultimately leads to stable and safe behavior in rainy conditions.
The wide shoulder zones with a rounded profile significantly improve traction when cornering, as well as effectively counteracting the adverse effects of uneven wear, which significantly reduces the tire's service life.
