When we talk about tyres for premium crossovers and heavy SUVs, compromising between comfort and active safety is unacceptable. Laufenn S-Fit2 SUV LK12A is a product born at the intersection of racing technologies and SUV load-carrying requirements. This model is designed not for off-road use, but for asphalt, where its true sports potential is revealed.
Control over load vectors
The main engineering task in developing the model was to manage the deformation of the contact patch under the influence of high centrifugal forces. Unlike standard SUV tyres, a reinforced carcass with a double breaker belt is used here. The sidewall has not only been given protection against cuts, but also an optimized stiffness profile. This solution allows the tyre to withstand bending moments during sharp turns. The tyre maintains the perpendicularity of the tread to the road even in tight turns, which is critical for vehicles with a high centre of mass. In dynamic terms, this is expressed in an instantaneous response to steering wheel rotation at speeds over 150 km/h.
Thermal balance of the rubber compound
The mixture composition uses a polymeric matrix with high cross-linking density of macromolecules. This gives a dual effect. Low-temperature plasticity - molecular chains remain mobile during prolonged rain and cooling, providing a high coefficient of friction on wet asphalt. Thermal stability - the rubber effectively dissipates the thermal energy accumulated in the contact patch. This prevents micro-tears in the bonds and tread separation, ensuring stability of characteristics even with an aggressive driving style.
Tread hydrodynamics
Safety on a wet road is ensured not only by chemistry, but also by the geometry of the drainage system. Here, the volume of longitudinal channels has been increased by applying an asymmetric scheme for the arrangement of lamellas. This creates a "pump" effect - evacuation of water from the central zone. The tread pattern is tuned to minimize the risk of hydroplaning, effectively breaking the water film.
Key features of Laufenn S-Fit2 SUV LK12A:
- The reinforced carcass construction and rigid sidewall provide directional stability, eliminating "wandering" of the heavy vehicle;
- The specialized nanocompound adapts to temperature fluctuations, maintaining elasticity for reliable braking on a wet highway and strength for high speeds;
- The mixture with optimized heat release prevents the "aging" of the tread due to overheating, extending the mileage.
