The asymmetric design combines longitudinal rows of blocks of different shapes and a developed system of transverse traction edges. This structure allows individual tread zones to participate differently in the transmission of traction and lateral forces. The high density of wavy 3D lamellae creates a multitude of additional working edges across the entire tread width. When in contact with snow and icy surfaces, they increase the number of gripping edges. The manufacturer also associates three-dimensional lamellae with a more even character of tread wear.
The tread compound includes silica, which helps to expand the working temperature range of the compound and maintain the necessary properties of the rubber in winter cooling. According to Landspider, this solution supports the tyre's grip on snow and ice.
