Kumho Road Venture AT61

The Kumho Road Venture AT61 summer tire is designed for compact and mid-size crossovers and SUVs. Developed at the Chinese branch of the South Korean tire giant, taking into account the characteristics of road conditions in China. It is favorably distinguished by its confident behavior, both on high-speed highways and on dirt roads.

The tread pattern is made in a symmetrical non-directional design, which provides equally high traction when moving both forward and backward. Among other features, it is worth noting the arrangement of blocks, in which transverse grooves are located at an angle and pass through the entire tread. This solution provides excellent longitudinal grip while reducing rolling resistance and noise level. In addition, such a block arrangement structure increases the size of the contact patch and optimizes the distribution of the load from the vehicle's weight on it, thereby increasing the stability of the traction properties and resistance to wear.

The use of a sufficiently open design provides a large number and diversity of drainage grooves. Their increased width allows the tread to be intensively cleaned in the contact zone with the road not only from water but also from soil particles.

Each block has several narrow slots. They perform several functions at once. First of all, it is the formation of additional edges that help the tire maintain its efficiency on wet asphalt and stony soil. In addition, such slots, giving the blocks additional mobility, increase the area of their contact with the road surface and give the tire's ride smoothness and acoustic comfort.
