The Korean tire manufacturer "Kumho" has been known in the tire market for more than half a century, primarily for its high-quality tires for sports cars. Nevertheless, the developers of this company pay great attention to winter tires for passenger cars. Thanks to the latest technologies and original developments, they, even being non-studded, provide maximum comfort and safety when driving in any weather, and in their characteristics, they do not concede to studded analogs.
This tire has an original tread pattern, which is unique in its composition. It includes an innovative rubber mixture with silicone additives. The use of silica provides the tire with high thermal resistance: it does not freeze at the lowest temperatures and retains its elasticity. The latter property allows, firstly, to better maintain contact with the road, and secondly, to evenly distribute the pressure over the entire area of the contact zone, which increases the service life of the tire.
The tread pattern is reinforced with friction elements and has an original appearance. Two ring-shaped longitudinal channels excellently remove moisture from the contact patch with the road surface, increasing the contact area. In water drainage, they are "helped" by a large number of small grooves, with which the tread is literally pockmarked.
Another positive feature of the Kumho KWN7401 tire is the clear contact with the track, which is provided by zigzag lamellas. They also guarantee stability when passing turns.
If we take the tread pattern "in general and in whole", it should be noted that it is optimized to maximize the reduction of the braking distance and, on the contrary, to enhance the acceleration characteristics.
In general, another good model from "Kumho" will certainly please its owner with good driving characteristics in the winter season.
