Kormoran Road Performance

The Kormoran Road Performance summer tire is designed for small and medium-sized passenger cars. Developed by Michelin specialists, who own this Polish brand. The strengths of the model are its traction on wet surfaces, fuel efficiency, and long service life. In the summer tire lineup, it occupies an intermediate position, as it is offered in sizes for 15- and 16-inch wheels.

Universal tread pattern

The tire is equipped with a tread having an asymmetric arrangement of elements distributed over several functional areas. The shoulder zones with rigid transverse blocks prevent skidding during maneuvering, giving the tire quickness and precision in responding to the driver's actions. In turn, the continuous longitudinal rib in the center provides stability of the tire's traction properties when driving in a straight line at high speed.

Special compound

To a significant extent, the effectiveness of the model on wet surfaces is determined by the characteristics of the rubber compound. It allows the tread to very closely fit all the smallest irregularities on the cold surface, providing reliable traction with it. The ability to maintain elasticity in such conditions is achieved by the increased content of silica in the compound composition. In addition, this component, by increasing the strength of the tread to tearing and stretching, helps it maintain its integrity when driving at high speed.

No aquaplaning

A distinctive feature of the tread design is that a significant part of its area is allocated to the elements of the drainage system. The longitudinal grooves have a large volume, thanks to which the tire is able to maintain traction with the road even during a heavy downpour. Additional resistance to aquaplaning is provided by numerous transverse grooves. They are inclined relative to the direction of movement, which accelerates the speed of the water flow being removed from the tread.
