Description Kleber Transalp 2
The Kleber Transalp 2 winter passenger tire, from one of the leading French manufacturers, was specifically designed for commercial vehicles with small payloads - light trucks and vans, as well as minibuses. This model is offered by the manufacturer in 18 standard sizes with a rim diameter ranging from 14 to 16 inches, which allows us to confidently talk about the very wide applicability of this tire.
This model features a V-shaped symmetrical directional tread pattern, distinguished by a modern four-rib design. All four longitudinal ribs of the tread, including the shoulder areas, are of large size, which allows the tire to withstand the often enormous weight of the cargo being transported due to the very even distribution of the external load over the contact patch. The central part of the tire's tread Kleber Transalp 2 consists of two longitudinal ribs, each of which is a separate row of massive blocks made in the shape of a quadrangle. The numerous edges formed by these blocks have made it possible to ensure more reliable traction in all directions, especially on slippery winter surfaces.
When developing the design of the shoulder areas, French tire makers took into account not only the specifics of winter weather conditions but also the use of this model on commercial vehicles. Therefore, the shoulder areas are massive and have high structural strength. To provide good traction characteristics, the shoulder areas of the tread consist of separate blocks, the edges of which effectively grip the snowy surface.
In order to compensate for the lack of studs on icy surfaces, the manufacturer has equipped the tread of this model with a large number of S-shaped lamellas. These tread elements form numerous sharp edges that perfectly puncture the water film that forms when driving on an icy surface, which makes the traction on ice more reliable.
The main features of the Kleber Transalp 2 tire
- Optimized V-shaped design of the symmetrical directional tread pattern has significantly improved traction on slippery surfaces compared to the previous model;
- Four massive longitudinal ribs perfectly distribute the load over the entire contact area, which has significantly reduced the likelihood of uneven wear;
- A multitude of tread blocks and S-shaped lamellas provide excellent traction, both on snow and on ice.
