The all-season tire Kirov K-201 is part of the new lineup of the Russian manufacturer after it was acquired by the Italian company Pirelli. The new owner, in addition to updating the model range, modernized the enterprise, which made it possible to establish the production of tire products of much higher quality. This model, designed for crossovers and SUVs, stands out not only with this but also with improved operational properties, demonstrated by it on any type of coverage.
Universal tread pattern
The tire, although it belongs to the High Terrain category, has much broader capabilities off-road than similar products from most foreign brands. At the same time, the developers managed to achieve this without compromising the characteristics on asphalt roads. This is largely due to the tread part of the tread, made in an aggressive V-shaped design with increased distance between blocks in the shoulder areas and minimal - in the central part.
Arrow-shaped blocks in the center
High performance on the highway is provided by the design of the central part. The blocks located here are directed along the tread and have an arrow-shaped shape. Thanks to the minimal distance from each other, they form a wide longitudinal rib, which performs several tasks at once. The massive size of the blocks and their arrow-shaped shape provide a contact patch with numerous edges, the significant inclination of which prevents lateral skidding and reduces rolling resistance, increasing acoustic comfort. In addition, the rigid construction of these elements provides better control over the vehicle when maneuvering, braking, and accelerating.
Twin blocks on the outer sides of the tread
The design of the tread edges is noticeably different, first of all, by its openness. The distance between the blocks located here is much greater than in the central part. At the same time, the elements themselves are directed transversely and have massive dimensions. Such a design also gives them multifunctionality. When maneuvering, they prevent skidding, providing increased accuracy of control and clear feedback. The large height of the blocks and the distance between them give the tire decent capabilities off-road, where these elements act as traction devices. In addition, these elements also improve the tire's performance on wet surfaces. The traction edges formed by them allow it to provide stability when accelerating and braking.
Effective rubber compound in any conditions
To a significant extent, the tire's performance on various surfaces and in any weather conditions is ensured by the characteristics of the rubber compound from which the tread part is made. The components included in its composition maintain its elasticity over a wide temperature range, and most of it falls on negative values. In addition, the compound composition provides the tread with increased tensile strength and rupture resistance, which reduces the risk of mechanical damage.
