The all-season tire Kirov K-139 has a fairly specific application. It was created for light commercial vehicles that often find themselves off paved roads. The model is released in one single size, 195R16C, which makes it popular among owners of Russian off-road vehicles "Niva". They prefer this tire to the standard ones due to its high strength, better comfort level, and excellent off-road capability.
"Mud" tread pattern
Most of the tire's advantages are due to the tread design. It has a high degree of openness. In fact, the tread is four longitudinal rows of blocks. Their polygonal shape provides a contact patch with a large number of gripping edges. In turn, the significant height of the blocks allows them to work off-road with maximum efficiency. It is worth noting the huge distance between the tread elements, especially in the shoulder areas. This feature allows the tread to quickly self-clean from adhering dirt particles and even from large stones.
Highway performance
Despite the open design, the tire's tread remains quite effective on paved roads. This is largely due to the construction of the central part. The blocks located here are arranged close to each other, separated by a narrow drainage groove. Its zigzag shape limits the mobility of the block, which increases the directional stability at high speed, reduces rolling resistance, and noise level.
