The Kapsen RW516 Icemax model represents the result of targeted development for winter conditions, where friction properties on ice and traction in deep snow are critically important. It is based on the synergy of three key elements: a cryogenic rubber compound that retains flexibility at ultra-low temperatures, a directed tread architecture for efficient self-cleaning, and a system of stabilized three-dimensional lamellas for operation on icy surfaces.

Adapted Material

The main component of the tire is the rubber compound, created on the principle of "elasticity memory". A high concentration of highly dispersed silica ("silica") in combination with special polymer compounds that do not crystallize in the cold, allows the composition to maintain optimal flexibility and viscoelastic properties even at extreme negative temperatures. This guarantees that the tread does not become "rigid", but actively adapts to the microrelief of ice and rolled snow, providing maximum contact patch.

Directed Architecture with "Claws"

The tread design is built on the principle of a directed, aggressively branched structure. Powerful continuous edges, radiating from the center to the shoulders, form a rigid frame for excellent directional stability and effective "gripping" into the snow. They work like fins, creating directed traction and removing slush from the contact area.

Three-dimensional lamellas are a key technology for ice. Located inside the blocks, they have a complex shape with micro-bridges. When in contact with the surface, they do not simply close, but "interlock" with each other, multiply increasing the block stiffness for precise control. On ice, their sharp edges act like microscopic ice axes, creating thousands of high-pressure points to ensure frictional grip.

High-Speed Drainage Grid

A multitude of intersecting grooves create a three-dimensional grid for instant water and slush removal, minimizing aquaplaning and slushing on winter roads, maintaining contact efficiency.
