Description Кама ВЛИ 10
The passenger tire Kama VLI 10 was created back in the days when domestic car enthusiasts used only "all-season" tires in the winter, since there were no winter models. The basis for its development was the experience of the Soviet tire industry. Nevertheless, time has not too much affected the effectiveness of the solutions used in the design of this tire, which allows it to have quite relevant characteristics today.
Multiple tread edges in the center of the tread
One of such solutions, which remains popular to this day, is the design of the central part of the tread. It contains three continuous longitudinal ribs. Each of them has a zigzag shape and small dimensions, which provides the contact patch with a large number of differently directed tread edges. This allows the tire to demonstrate confident and reliable behavior on any slippery roads. At the same time, the solid construction of the tread ribs in the center contributes to the reduction of fuel consumption and noise level, as well as prevents the development of uneven wear.
Paired blocks of shoulder zones
In turn, the shoulder zones of the tread are characterized by an open design. Here, there are many individual blocks that are connected in pairs by rigid bridges. This significantly increases their resistance to deformation, especially during acceleration and braking. As a result, the tire demonstrates not only good traction in turns but also a shortened braking distance, especially on slippery roads.
Main features of Kama VLI 10
- three solid tread ribs in the center increase stability at high speeds, reduce rolling resistance, and due to their zigzag shape, improve longitudinal traction characteristics;
- double tread blocks in the shoulder zones provide confident traction in turns and a shortened braking distance;
- four longitudinal and many transverse drainage grooves improve traction properties on wet roads.
