The source of inspiration for the developers of the Interstate WinterClaw ExtremeGrip winter passenger tire was the work of Finnish tire makers. The use of these technical solutions gave this model high performance on any winter roads, and production in Asian countries allowed it to keep its cost at a more than loyal level for buyers.
Stud installation option
In its "basic" version, this model does not have studs. However, the manufacturer provided for the possibility of their installation in specially designated places. They are located in such a way that during movement, up to 8 continuous rows are formed.
But even without studs, it cannot be called helpless on ice. Their absence is offset by several thousand gripping edges that are formed when the corresponding number of wavy lamellas opens.
Steering accuracy
The central protector rib has a continuous and therefore dynamically deformable design. This feature, in combination with similar properties in the transverse blocks of the shoulder zones, gives the tire accuracy and quickness in response to steering wheel turns. This significantly simplifies the process of managing the vehicle in complex winter conditions.
Key features of Interstate WinterClaw ExtremeGrip
- excellent performance on ice due to numerous lamellas and the possibility of installing studs;
- good longitudinal traction characteristics on snow are ensured by the significant height and extent of the traction edges formed by the tread blocks.
