Interstate Touring IST-1

The Interstate Touring IST-1 summer passenger tire, produced by one of the most renowned Dutch manufacturers, is designed for the most popular small and medium-sized passenger cars.

The design of the directional symmetric tread pattern features highly original individual elements. The tread pattern consists of a central zigzag-shaped rib, two rows of separate blocks of original shapes and sizes, as well as two shoulder zones separated by transverse drainage grooves. The solid and rigid rib, located in the center of the tread, significantly improves the handling and steering response, while its zigzag shape helps reduce noise.

The two adjacent ribs consist of numerous separate blocks, the most massive of which have a rounded profile on the side of the central rib. This solution allowed improving the efficiency of water drainage from the contact patch, as well as endowing the tire with softness and comfort during movement. Additionally, the small distance between the blocks increased the tire's contact area with the surface without compromising the efficiency of water drainage, ensuring excellent traction on dry roads.

It is also worth noting the excellent water drainage efficiency from the tire's contact patch, provided by four drainage grooves along the entire tread, as well as the curved shape of the transverse grooves, which improves water circulation across the contact patch of the Interstate Touring IST-1 tire. As a result, the tire demonstrates excellent road-holding capabilities in rainy conditions, making driving even safer.

In addition to the large width, the shoulder zones of the tread are characterized by increased stiffness due to transverse straight self-locking lamellas, which significantly improved the acceleration and braking efficiency not only during straight driving but also when cornering. It is also worth noting the rounded profile of the shoulder zones, which is an effective solution for combating uneven wear, negatively affecting the tire's service life.
