Aggressive tread pattern design

The aggressive design of the tread pattern is one of the distinctive features of this tire. The scheme of the tread elements is reminiscent of the letter V. It is thanks to this design that the Hercules G3000V tire owes most of its exceptional capabilities, including the ability to be used even in the spring-autumn period. The fact is that such a tread pattern has a large contact patch area, which has been further increased by making all tread elements as massive as possible. However, to do this, it was necessary to reduce the number of functional zones to 4.

However, the advantages of this scheme far outweigh the disadvantages. In addition to the above-mentioned increase in contact patch size, the massive tread elements allow for a significant increase in resistance to uneven wear due to a more even distribution of external load. Moreover, the reduced number of tread elements has made it possible to significantly reduce rolling resistance, which has had a very beneficial effect on fuel consumption.

Excellent grip on wet roads

When developing this tire, a lot of attention was paid to ensuring grip on wet roads. It is largely for this reason that preference was given to the V-shaped tread pattern design. After all, such a scheme allows the drainage grooves to be arranged at an acute angle relative to the direction of movement, which significantly increases the speed of water removal from the contact patch. At the same time, all elements of the drainage system are distinguished by large sizes, which has significantly increased the tire's resistance to aquaplaning.
