Description Hankook W409 Winter i Pike (нешип)
The Hankook W409 Winter i Pike winter tire is installed on passenger cars of various classes. The non-studded model offers improved traction on snowy and icy surfaces, excellent handling and acoustic comfort, and smooth ride on uneven roads.
The tread pattern features an increased width and direction of most drainage grooves against the direction of travel. Due to this, the process of removing water and its mixture with snow from the contact patch occurs with high intensity, providing the tire with resistance to aquaplaning and slushplaning.
The solid rib located in the center, in addition to its massive size, features a tapered, acute-angled shape. It gives the element additional stability against deformation, which positively affects the directional stability and makes it easier to handle the vehicle when maneuvering. Additionally, due to the formation of additional transverse edges on snowy surfaces, traction is enhanced.
The peripheral double blocks in the central part also have increased stiffness, improving handling in winter conditions. The differently directed edges formed by them increase the grip properties on snow.
The tread contains special holes. They, due to their droplet-shaped profile, dry the contact patch. This, along with the use of thousands of sinusoidal lamellas, increases the grip with a wet and icy surface.
Key features:
- voluminous and directionally-oriented grooves reduce the risk of aquaplaning and slushplaning;
- peripheral double blocks in the central part improve traction on snow;
- the tapered central rib increases directional stability and steering accuracy at high speeds;
- droplet-shaped holes dry the contact patch, enhancing grip on ice.
