The Hankook Winter Icebear W300 passenger all-season non-studded tire, produced by the world-renowned South Korean manufacturer, is designed for powerful sports passenger cars. The manufacturer refers to this tire as a high-performance winter tire, which is confirmed by the high speed indices assigned to it.

The main distinctive feature of the tire's design is the asymmetric tread pattern, equipped with four longitudinally arranged grooves that can efficiently remove snow, mud, and water from the contact patch. The inner part of the tire's tread is equipped with two rows of individual blocks, the sharp edges of which provide excellent traction and braking performance on snow. The inner shoulder area is noticeably narrower than the analogous area on the outer side of the tire's tread, and also consists of a row of individual blocks that add even more confidence when driving on snow.

To improve the indicators of directional stability and handling, as well as to reduce rolling resistance, one of the edges on the outer side of the tread is a solid, uninterrupted element. The shoulder area on the outer side of the tread is distinguished by its large width. Like other tread elements, the outer shoulder area is divided into individual blocks.

Since, when passing turns, the outer side of the tire is usually more loaded than the inner side, this solution significantly improves the stability of the tire's behavior when cornering. Another distinctive feature of the tire's tread is the multitude of transversely arranged wavy lamellas, which, without compromising the stiffness of all tread elements, provide excellent traction with various slippery surfaces.

The use of special solutions in the tire's design, which are part of the manufacturer's innovative SCCT technology, has made it possible to ensure the strength and stiffness of the tire, which are necessary for driving at speeds of up to 240 km/h.
