Released by one of the largest Asian manufacturers with a excellent reputation, the summer passenger tire GT-Radial Champiro BAX2 is designed for powerful sports passenger cars of small and medium class. This tire belongs to the category of high-performance tires, which can be judged by the maximum speed indices assigned to it - "H" and "V".
The design of this tire features an asymmetric directional tread pattern of a very aggressive appearance. The tread pattern of the tire consists of two central ribs and two shoulder zones of different widths, one of which, located on the inner side, occupies almost half of the entire tread area. One of the ribs, located closer to the center, is of small width and does not have any interruptions throughout the tread. This provided the GT Radial Champiro BAX2 tire with excellent course stability characteristics, and also significantly reduced the tire's response time to any steering movement. Another central rib is divided into separate blocks by curved channels. The curved shape of the channels allows to significantly increase the circulation of water in the contact patch, thereby improving the efficiency of water drainage from the contact patch.
The shoulder zone located on the inner side of the tread is also dotted with numerous curved channels. In combination, this allowed the tire to demonstrate excellent traction not only on dry roads, but also to maintain stability even on very wet surfaces. However, the main contribution to the fight against aquaplaning is made by three wide and deep longitudinal grooves, which quickly and optimally remove water from the contact patch, providing the tire with exceptional handling characteristics on wet roads.
Main features of the GT Radial Champiro BAX2 tire
- excellent course stability and handling when cornering at high speeds are combined with quiet and very comfortable ride, thanks to the aggressive design of the asymmetric tread pattern;
- high silica content in the rubber compound provides high braking efficiency on wet roads, as well as low rolling resistance, which has a direct impact on excellent fuel economy;
- three wide drainage grooves and a system of transverse channels, the curved shape of which enhances water circulation in the contact patch, effectively combat aquaplaning.
