Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac RT – universal tire with an aggressive "mud" tread pattern that can be used on SUVs in a year-round mode. The model is developed based on existing models, having received a number of improvements.
The tread pattern is represented by high elements that form a wide rib in the central part, consisting of blocks separated by channels. Each of them carries additional lamellas. This solution made it possible to improve several indicators at once. Firstly, this is the handling on paved surfaces. Secondly, the level of traction has increased, including on snowy off-road. An important feature is the blocks of the shoulder zone, which extend to the sidewalls. In addition to maintaining traction, they are also responsible for preventing damage that can be caused by branches, sharp stones, etc. Also, protection for the rim of the disk is provided. The sidewalls themselves are represented by a three-layer structure, which helps to maintain the shape of the contact area under load and additionally reduces mechanical impacts to a minimum.
The used compound has increased stiffness, which provides a low level of wear even with intensive operation and reduces deformation of elements under load.
