The all-season tire Goodyear Wrangler AT/SA+ is designed for those SUVs and pickups that are operated not only on highways but also beyond their limits. The design of this model was developed using advanced computer simulation technologies. With their help, the tire was able to provide high performance on both the highway and off-road without compromising other operational characteristics. This tire is distinguished by its high efficiency when braking, low noise and vibration levels, as well as fuel efficiency.
Durable and lightweight carcass with Kevlar
As a representative of the Wrangler line, this model is equipped with a very durable carcass based on a two-layer steel cord. The use of modern seamless winding technology has significantly increased the density of the thread arrangement. This, on the one hand, reduced the weight and increased the carrying capacity of the tire, and on the other hand, significantly reduced its heating during high-speed movement.
On top of the carcass, there are two layers of breaker. Each of them is a Kevlar cord, also made using seamless winding technology. The material used in the breaker construction is distinguished by its high mechanical strength, elasticity, and low weight. These physical properties gave the tire several important advantages at once. First of all, it is the ability to dampen the impact of small irregularities on the road surface. In addition to the softness of the ride, this feature significantly reduced the level of low-frequency vibrations and noise transmitted to the vehicle body, which, in turn, had a positive effect on the level of acoustic comfort.
Tread pattern optimized for highway and off-road
This model has a tread that is equally well-suited for operation on both highways and off-road. The versatility of application is ensured by the use of modern technologies in its development, as well as the division of the tread pattern into several functional zones. In particular, the central part, which contains a wide longitudinal rib of a double continuous structure, improves high-speed stability, giving the tire stability and predictability. In turn, the shoulder areas of the tread, which contain many individual blocks, improve longitudinal traction properties on off-road and slippery snow-covered roads.
Improved sand and mud capabilities
The shoulder areas of the tread contain many individual blocks of a composite structure. A significant part of each of these elements is located on the sidewalls, forming triangular notches on them, and thereby creating many additional edges of engagement. It is these that give the tire confidence and reliability in sand and mud, helping to overcome even the most difficult off-road sections.
