The Goodyear UltraGrip 5 winter tire is designed with the specific climate conditions of Northern Europe and Canada in mind. It is distinguished by its reliable grip on snow and ice, comfortable handling during maneuvers, reduced rolling resistance, and quiet and smooth ride.

The tread pattern is made in the "signature" V-Tread design for winter tires of this brand, with a characteristic arrangement of a significant part of the grooves. Thanks to this, they can use the rotation of the wheel to divert water from the contact patch, keeping low rolling resistance and increasing the durability of the tread to abrasive wear. Another important feature of the pattern is the presence of a large number of blocks. Their high walls of different directions, in combination with significant voids between elements, provide excellent traction properties on snowy surfaces. They are practically fully preserved on icy surfaces as well. Across the tread, there are lamellae with wavy edges that easily penetrate the water film formed during movement in such conditions. These elements are arranged transversely, which improves, first of all, traction and braking properties. It's worth noting the use of a special rubber compound in the manufacture of the tread. It remains elastic at the lowest temperatures, allowing, among other things, the lamellae to closely fit the smallest irregularities on the road surface, which significantly increases the grip with it, even if it's covered with a layer of ice.
