Description Goodyear Ice Navi Cargo
Initially, the Goodyear Ice Navi Cargo winter commercial tire was designed for the Japanese market. However, its consumer properties proved to be attractive enough for this model to appear in other countries, including ours. First and foremost, these are excellent traction properties on ice, which are provided by a whole complex of technical solutions.
Several types of lamellas
The tread of this model has several thousand traction edges, most of which are formed by lamellas. North American tire makers used several types of these tread elements. Wavy lamellas provide traction on packed snow and ice, and also, due to the dense fixation of the walls to each other when opening, improved handling on smooth hard surfaces. In turn, numerous straight lamellas divert water from the contact patch to one of the nearby drainage grooves. This further improves traction properties on icy roads.
Double blocks in the shoulder areas
A narrow drainage groove in the shoulder areas divides the blocks located here into two parts, giving this area multifunctionality. Such a design improves resistance to skidding due to the creation of the so-called "edge effect". In addition, the likelihood of occurrence and development of uneven wear is reduced, which is ensured by a more even distribution of external pressure over the contact patch.
Key features of Goodyear Ice Navi Cargo
- good traction properties on ice and packed snow due to several thousand lamellas and the use of several types of these tread elements;
- high traction characteristics on snow are provided by the open design of the tread pattern, which contains many individual blocks.
