Description Goodyear Cargo G46
The winter non-studded tire Goodyear G46 is designed for operation on commercial vehicles with a small payload, starting from various light trucks and ending with passenger buses. At the same time, a fairly wide range of sizes provides this model with excellent applicability. Among other key features of this tire, it is worth noting excellent traction on any winter surface, as well as low rolling resistance, which makes its application even more economically justified.
Excellent directional stability
The tread pattern of the Goodyear G46 model consists of many separate blocks of complex polygonal shape. Arranged in a checkerboard pattern, they form five longitudinal ribs, one of which is located in the very center of the tread pattern. In this part, the blocks have a rigid connection between them, which turns them into a single tread element that is highly resistant to dynamic deformation. The presence of a rigid longitudinal rib in this part of the tread pattern has allowed the tire to have not only excellent directional stability on winter roads but also improved handling due to reduced reaction time to steering wheel turns. Additionally, the construction of the central part has significantly reduced rolling resistance, which in turn has led to improved fuel efficiency.
Excellent traction on snowy roads
As mentioned earlier, the tread pattern of this model consists of many separate blocks of polygonal shape. During movement, these elements form a huge number of edges, which is why the tire demonstrates excellent traction on snowy roads.
Increased payload capacity
In addition to the countless number of traction edges, the tread blocks, due to their polygonal shape and close proximity to each other, provide an even distribution of external pressure across the contact patch. Thanks to this, the tire easily withstands operation with high load, while also having excellent resistance to uneven wear, which significantly extends its service life.
Key features of the Goodyear G46 tire
- a robust and reliable design developed with consideration of the specifics of operation on commercial vehicles with a small payload;
- five longitudinal ribs with a rigid tread element in the central part provide excellent directional stability and low rolling resistance;
- a large number of tread blocks of polygonal shape allows for confident movement on any winter surface;
- massive dimensions and close proximity of tread blocks to each other, due to which the distribution of external pressure across the contact patch becomes optimal, providing the tire with increased payload capacity and excellent resistance to uneven wear;
- numerous transverse and drainage channels provide high resistance to both aquaplaning and slushplaning;
- the arrangement of tread blocks in a checkerboard pattern significantly reduces the level of acoustic comfort.
