Despite being part of the "Eagle" lineup, the Goodyear Eagle NCP 5 summer tire is distinguished by its increased environmental friendliness, which is expressed, first and foremost, in the form of low fuel consumption. At the same time, the use of the latest technologies in its design has allowed other equally important operational properties to be maintained at a very high level.
Fuel Efficiency
This model owes its reduced rolling resistance to several design features. First and foremost, it is a very lightweight carcass, entirely made from modern synthetic materials. At the same time, a seamless winding technology was used for the cord, which gives it increased density. In combination with the arrangement of its fibers at a slight angle to the direction of movement, this allowed the carcass to be given a number of important properties. The main ones are increased resistance to deformation and reduced heat generation during movement. Both properties significantly reduce rolling resistance, and thus fuel consumption.
Long Service Life
It is also ensured by several technical solutions. One of the main ones is the multi-layer design of the breaker, which provides a very rigid "substrate" directly under the tread. This significantly optimizes the distribution of external pressure across the contact patch. In combination with the small-radius tread profile, this feature provides it with very high resistance to uneven wear. In turn, resistance to abrasive wear is achieved due to the physicochemical properties of the rubber mixture, which consists of more than half silica.
Key Features of Goodyear Eagle NCP 5
- very low fuel consumption due to the rigid and lightweight carcass design, entirely made from synthetic materials;
- the reinforced breaker design and flat tread profile ensure even distribution of external pressure across the contact patch, which, in turn, increases the service life of the tire.
