Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 ST

Like its predecessors with similar names, the summer tire Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 ST is designed primarily for the most dynamic versions of passenger cars. It is characterized by improved performance on both dry and wet surfaces, increased mileage, and reduced rolling resistance.

Optimized tread pattern
As before, the tire's tread has an asymmetric pattern with non-symmetrically arranged elements, which largely determines its balanced ride quality. In particular, the central part contains an increased number of lamellas cut at a sufficiently aggressive angle, lengthening their edges. This significantly improves traction and braking properties, especially on wet surfaces, while providing excellent directional stability. An important feature of the pattern is the shoulder blocks. Unlike the elements in the central part, they are made in the form of massive solid elements connected by rigid "bridges". Due to this design, they have high resistance to deformation, which is most vividly manifested when passing turns, where this tire demonstrates not only stable grip but also fast and precise reactions to the driver's actions, which significantly simplifies the management process. The advantage of this solution was a significant reduction in uneven wear of the tread in this driving mode.

Improved rubber compound
The tire was one of the first in the flagship line of the North American manufacturer to feature a rubber compound with wood resin in its composition. It additionally increases the strength of the tread on tear and stretch, allowing to increase the content of "silica" in the compound, making it even more elastic. As a result, the elements of the tread pattern more closely follow the irregularities of the road surface, allowing the sharpened edges to more easily penetrate the water film, increasing grip in rainy conditions. This component significantly increases the resistance of the tread to abrasive wear, which allows the tire to maintain its functionality at high mileage even on roads with worn-out surfaces.
