The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 SUV summer tire for SUVs and crossovers was developed based on the same model designed for passenger cars. It differs from the "original" primarily in its reinforced carcass structure, which remains relatively light, as well as a modified rubber compound composition. The point-by-point character of the modernization allowed the preservation of the main characteristic feature of this model - an ideal balance between comfort and sporty handling.
Short braking distance on dry and wet roads
Being one of the flagship models, this tire was created using all the latest technologies available to Goodyear. One of them is ActiveBraking. This technological solution consists of a more elastic rubber compound in the shoulder areas of the tread, as well as a special design of the tread blocks located here. When in contact with the road, they, being under load, compress, increasing the size of the contact patch, which, in turn, significantly reduces the braking distance, both on dry and wet roads.
Another advantage of this solution is a significant increase in the level of comfort. Softer shoulder blocks absorb a significant part of the vibrational impact caused by road surface irregularities.

Such a combination was achieved through the use of modern synthetic materials in its construction. They are characterized by low mass and increased resistance to aggressive mechanical stress. In addition, it is impossible not to note the use of modern winding technologies. With their help, it was possible not only to eliminate seams and joints but also to significantly increase the density of the arrangement of synthetic fibers, which, in turn, gave the entire structure additional rigidity. The practical result was a significant improvement in several operational properties. First and foremost, this is traction and handling, which are characterized by stability, reliability, and predictability. It is also impossible not to note the significant increase in fuel efficiency, which was achieved by reducing the weight of the tire.
As for the compound, it is distinguished, first of all, by the use of several compositions with different degrees of elasticity. The most rigid is the lower base layer of the tread, which gives the tire increased stability at high speeds and handling agility. In turn, the upper layer is characterized by increased elasticity due to the increased content of silica in the composition. On the one hand, this allows the tire to demonstrate improved traction, especially on wet roads, and on the other hand, to dampen the impact of road surface irregularities.
Increased fuel efficiency
Being designed for powerful crossovers and SUVs, this model, nevertheless, demonstrates very good fuel efficiency indicators. They are mainly achieved due to the use of special functional polymers in the rubber compound. These complex chemical compounds significantly reduce the heating of the tire when driving at high speeds, which reduces rolling resistance.
