Tread pattern with wide longitudinal ribs
A significant part of the advantages of this model is provided by the features of the design of its tread pattern. It contains four very wide longitudinal ribs, each consisting of many massive blocks of a quadrangular shape. Such a layout improves several important operational properties at once. First of all, this is the traction and handling on dry roads, achieved due to the large size of the contact patch. In addition, the massiveness of the tread ribs optimizes the distribution of external load on it, making it very even. This, in turn, prevents the development of uneven wear and thereby increases the life of the tire.
Excellent resistance to aquaplaning
Between the tread blocks, there are wide and deep drainage grooves connected to each other and to the external environment by numerous transverse channels. The performance of the drainage system is further increased by their curved shape and location against the direction of movement, which, in turn, leads to improved traction on wet roads.
In this regard, it is impossible not to mention the rubber compound of the tread. Its composition is characterized by an increased content of silica, thanks to which the tire demonstrates confident behavior on wet roads. It was possible to increase the proportion of this component without harming other operational properties due to the addition of modern polymers to the compound, which increased its homogeneity and the strength of the tread to tearing.
